That is what Built Not Begged Bookshelf does. It is a free WordPress bookshelf for your books, built for authors who publish and need their own site to carry the catalog.
What it does
Bookshelf gives your books a proper home on your WordPress site. You get author shelves, so your work is organized by author instead of dumped into one long list. You get real retailer links, so when a reader finds a book they want, the link takes them to an actual place to buy it.
It also comes with readable theme options. Readable matters. A bookshelf nobody can read comfortably is decoration, not a sales tool. The options let you present your books in a way that fits your site while keeping the focus on the titles themselves.
There is also an optional new release feed. If you want readers to see what is new, you can turn that on. If you do not, you do not have to. Optional means optional.
Who it is for
This is for authors running WordPress who are tired of hand building book pages and watching their catalog get messy as it grows. One book is easy to manage by hand. Ten books is a chore. A full catalog needs a system.
It is also for publishers and author brands with more than one name on the shelf. Author shelves keep that straight, so readers can browse by the author they came for.
