BUILT NOT BEGGED
Private Audiobook Beta for WordPress: A Private Audiobook Room and a Public Music Library
If you publish audio, you already know the problem. Some of it is meant for everybody. Some of it is not. Throw both kinds into the same open folder and you lose control of the private work. Keep the private work locked away somewhere separate and your listeners end up dealing with a clunky setup that does not feel like part of your site.
Private Audiobook Beta was built to solve that split in one place, on your own WordPress site.
What it does
Private Audiobook Beta lets you create two things side by side. The first is a public music library, open to your visitors. The second is a separate private audiobook room, kept apart from the public side.
The audiobook side comes with protected MP3 storage. Your audiobook files are not just sitting in the same open space as everything else. They live in the private room, where they belong.
It also includes a player that matches your WordPress site. That matters more than people think. When a listener hits play, the experience should look and feel like your site, not like a random third party tool bolted on as an afterthought.
Who it is for
This is for WordPress site owners who publish audio and need a clean line between public and private. If you have music you want out in the open and audiobooks you want kept private, this was built for that exact situation.
It is also for builders who would rather run this on their own site than hand their audio over to somebody else to host and control. Your library, your room, your site.
Where it stands
This is a beta, and the name says so on purpose. The current version is 2026.10.12.001. It is working on our own sites right now. That is how we test everything we sell or give away here. It runs on real sites first, not just on a demo page.
Because it is a beta, you should go in with your eyes open. It works, and we use it, but it is still an early release. That honesty is the point. We would rather tell you exactly where a product stands than dress it up as something finished when it is not.
Price
Private Audiobook Beta is free. There is no charge and no license request to make. You can download it direct from the product page and get started.
If you have been looking for a simple way to keep a public music library and a private audiobook room under one roof on WordPress, this is ours, and it is ready for you to try.
